__Dog Sense Philosophy of Training
	Dog Sense views dogs as though they were a snowflake. Each one can be identified as a dog but not one is alike. The training methods are personalized to the needs of the individual dog and the training program is customized specifically for that individual dog and its owner. My goal is for the owner, their dog and myself to work as a team. Dog Sense believes that in order for the everyday behavioral problems to be solved there must be a means or line of communication that opens between the dog and its owner. This is accomplished through understanding and working together with the basic obedience commands. Learning how to use these commands will establish the leadership role that is necessary to create the harmony between you and your dog that I trust you are looking for. One of the most exciting things I get to see in this business is when that line of communication actually opens. The owners are ever so proud and pleased. Their dog becomes so relaxed and confidant because their leader is able to communicate with them. It leaves me with the belief that these dogs are not going to find themselves in a shelter or rescue group. Someone cared enough to learn how to talk to them, how to give them direction. That someone can be you. This line of communication creates a win-win situation for all concerned – me, you and your dog.
			I would like to introduce my dog Chance
			He is a 5 year old Golden Retriever who was diagnosed 4 years ago with an Auto Immune Disease that requires him to be monitored at all times. He cannot be exposed to weather that is too hot or too cold nor can he be exercised strenuously or for any great amount of time. Chance has lived approximately 3 years past what was expected and I believe this is because Chance has always had a purpose. It has never been an option for him to give up. I found a way to communicate with Chance which stimulated his mind, gave him a minimum amount of exercise and a feeling of self worth. This open line of communication that Chance and I have was established through obedience commands. What you will see is Chance having fun and exercising at the same time so do not expect precision but do recognize that he is a true companion just like your dog. You will see him execute a number of commands without leash or collar on. Some commands are verbal and some are hand commands alone. There is so much more that Chance does that is incorporated into our everyday living but this is just to show you that if Chance can do it, so can your dog.
